Mental health assessment and intervention

Consists of evidence based therapies engaged in collaboration with each client. Therapies engaged in will depend on presentation and goals that each client comes in hoping to gain. Clients from across the lifespan are seen at Pearl Psychology as well as a variety of presentations including but not limited to anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, trauma, relationship difficulties and behaviour change.

Assessments

Thorough diagnostic assessments that can be used to assist with further support at home, school or through funding bodies such as NDIS. Each assessment includes a comprehensive report which can be used by the individual for their needs. The report will include resources for the individual and their family as well as recommendations for the individual going forward.

Assessments include the following:

  • Cognitive assessments (child & adult) to diagnose possible Intellectual Disability (ID) - involving a cognitive assessment (WISC V or WAIS IV), an adaptive behaviour assessment and information gathering from a variety of sources.

  • Learning assessments (child & adult) to diagnose potential Specific Learning Disorder - involving a cognitive assessment (WISC V or WAIS IV), learning assessment (WIAT III), adaptive behaviour assessment and information gathering from a variety of sources.

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder assessments (child & adult) - involving an Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), cognitive assessment, observations, an adaptive behaviour assessment and information gathering from a variety of sources. Please note that things may be added or subtracted if required and this will be determined after meeting the individual.

  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (child & adult) - involving Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in adults/adolescents (DIVA 5), executive functioning assessment, cognitive assessment, adaptive behaviour assessment and information gathering from a variety of sources.

Supervision

Supervision for either individuals or groups. This can be centred around case conceptualisation, intervention or assessments and report writing. A Board Approved Supervisor that can tick of elements of individuals 4+2 or 5+1 pathways or just for general supervision.
